The U.S. Army SCR-300A BC-1000 field radio was used extensively from 1942 through the 1950's. The frequency range is 40-48 mhz.The power out of the transmitter is about 1/2 watt wide band FM. I found my BC-1000 in 1971 in a Army Surplus store for $5 a piece. I bought 3 of them and still have them. Some of these have been converted to six meter 52mhz band by Ham operators who continue to use them for 'Green Nets". I have not used mine for several years but have plans to build up a power pack for at least one of them soon.
